Tree Thinning & Pruning

Forestry pruning is not done as much as it was in the past. With most large forestry management organisations preferring to thin and not prune. However, for smaller forest blocks, pruning gives greater options for a final crop. You can always throw pruned logs down a chipper, but you can't turn mature un-pruned trees into pruned trees!

Kewene Contracts have people who have work experience in large pruning crews and we are able to offer a select and prune service.

Thin to waste can be done either with or without pruning. We have done thin to waste treatment on thousands of hectares in the North Island.
